The LGN purposefully works in countries that desperately need healthy churches but lack trained pastors. Many of our pastors lead congregations in deeply impoverished countries where less than 2% of the people know Christ.
In Cambodia there are 6,000 villages without a church and only 1.4% are believers, yet it is wide open for the Gospel. In India only 0.14% of the 500 million people there claim to be Christians, with a staggering 2,084 unreached people groups. Truly the harvest is great in these nations, and we are raising up the pastors and churches to reap the harvest.
Many of these pastors face persecution and great hardship in their daily ministry. Their congregations simply can’t afford to support them, so many are bi-vocational but still face real financial challenges. The LGN raises the money needed to help support these pastors on a monthly basis based on their location, family size and size of their church ministry.
That support ranges from $25-$150 a month and we support them for six months at a time. Each month we review their effectiveness and then decide based on their performance whether to continue their support for another six months. Along with the support we give, we train our LGN pastors on how to develop a financial plan for their family and their church which increasingly depends less and less on foreign support. They are so deeply appreciative of all of our sponsors who make doing ministry possible for them and their family.
